It’s a rare restaurant that offers
all-American fried-chicken dinners as well as a full array of Middle
Eastern favorites such as gyros, lamb kebabs and stuffed Cornish game
hens. Congenial restaurateur Jehad Selah pulls it off in a building that
looks like a riverboat outside and a Costco inside. His dinner prices
are enticing, and those deep-fried chicken dinners (complete with
potatoes, beans and fat cinnamon rolls) and his chicken-fried steak and
cheeseburgers are surprisingly good. The Middle Eastern fare – hummus,
baba ghanoush, falafel and kebabs – is excellent, too. Sunday brunch is
served in a retrofitted sports car."Soooo Good!!!!"
(Sunday Brunch is no longer served, except on Mothers Day, but we still have the sports car...)
"The best Mediterranean!" by Trish
November 05, 2009 - This place
has the best Mediterranean food in town! I have been eating here for
about 20 years now when it was in a little strip mall in Gladstone. I
absolutely love it and as a vegetarian it's one of the places where I
can get a really awesome meal. I wish they were still in their old
location in Parkville by the train crossing but the food is still as
good so I'll keep going there. Definitely a fave for me and my fiance!
by Lonna Duzan (August 31st) -Me and Billy went out to dinner at Cafe' Cedar on Saturday night! OMG! It was soooooo good!!! We had hummus and pita and I had a veggie and chicken dish that was layered over baba! Oh my! We went all out with the Canyon Road Merlot - I don't even like merlot, but this one rocked! Then we finished it off with baklava! MMMmmmmm! If you haven't been there - you've got to try it!
"Loved It" (Yahoo user) (8/31/09) We took a large group there and it was really, really good. I like the place, its cozy. The food was fabulous and the service was very good. They have a large variety of wines and a great bar. Yes, we'd go their again.

Cedar Cafe is my favorite Mediterranean food in the Kansas City area! Parkville is a bit of a drive from KC, but the food is well worth it! Falafil and hummus is great, soups are always good, and the Lamb kabobs are my favorite! ...
